John F Kennedy An American Visionary Reviews

Hello,

Thank you so much for submitting John F Kennedy: An American Visionary to our Film of the Month competition. I’m pleased to announce that your film was a runner-up for the February round of our competition, congratulations!

Here are the comments from the judges:

Thoughtful and well-matched pairing of archive footage and voice over. Good choice of music for the coverage of Kennedy's assassination and death - this part is really quite moving.

Great to see that the filmmaker was inspired to make this after visiting the museum. Good use of archive footage and present day content.

Well researched and lots of interesting detail. The clips and images are well used to develop the narrative and adding some new footage makes the documentary more personal and impactful.

The documentary does a very good job of finding and editing together archival footage which is no easy task. As an American (working in London) I greatly appreciate the subject matter and the story woven together by the filmmaker. The film is a well-made film, and the filmmakers are enthusiastically encouraged to continue working their craft.

I enjoyed the documentary style of this film and I had never seen some of the footage before. I felt it would have benefited from a smoother narrative flow and more context/detail in parts, e.g. shots in Ireland; where was JFK visiting and who had lived in that house, etc – but overall impressive and detailed

Your film and all the other entries can be found on the Film of the Month February playlist on our YouTube channel.

Kind regards,

The Lighting Task

I found this task quite difficult so I took two pictures of the 1989-1992 batmobile.
